In celebration of Disneyland’s 58th anniversary, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club has launched the “Off the Map Sweepstakes.”
So, 25 lucky D23 Members and their guests will be invited to Disneyland Park to visit four of the parks little-seen but widely heard of locations: Walt Disney’s private apartment: Built during the initial construction of Disneyland, Walt Disney’s private apartment is a quaint studio dwelling, filled with Victorian decor, family photos, and antiques selected by the Disney family. Lilly Belle VIP parlor car: Disneyland guests have long taken grand circle tours on the Disneyland Railroad, but few ever enjoy the ride from the elegant Lilly Belle VIP car parlor. Named after Walt’s wife, Lillian, the Lilly Belle is truly a piece of history, built in 1955, and refurbished to its modern state of luxury for America’s bicentennial celebration in 1976. Circle D Ranch: From the friendly goats at Big Thunder Ranch to the horses who carry guests down Main Street, U.S.A., Circle D Ranch is home to Disneyland’s beloved “four-legged cast members.” Disneyland Dream Suite: This private space above Pirates of the Caribbean was originally planned to be another apartment for Walt Disney, but he passed away before its completion. In 2008, Imaginers used some of Walt’s original ideas and some truly magical surprises of their own to transform it into a fantasy villa like no other. D23 Members may enter the sweepstakes through August 23 at D23.com. The tour will take place on Wednesday, October 2. Winners will be able to attend with one (1) guest. For complete rules, details, and eligibility please visit D23.com. No purchase required. You may join D23 for free at D23.com. Family: It is the most important thing in most people lives. Regardless of how dysfunctional the family is, you know people rely on their family members for support and advice. I am lucky to come from an almost normal family. As a family we had some arguments and discussions but at the end, love and support was always there. I am very interested on the Disney movie Delivery Man. Can you imagine how your life can change if you just learn today that you are the parent of 533 kids? How would you react? What if you were an underachiever that never worried about getting the best from life? In the new Disney movie Delivery Man, this is what happens to the character played by Vince Vaughn. I am looking forward to see how the movie unveils, but for now, I want to invite you to watch the first promotional trailer available. DELIVERY MAN releases in theaters on November 22nd! My family was invited to watch the debut performance of Mickey and the Magical Map. As Disney knows how to do, they treated us as royalty, with Kettle corn, water and tickets to enjoy the park after the show. The show is presented at the newly refurbished Fantasyland Theatre just across from It’s a small World. After a presentation from our Disney hostess, we were taking into a journey within the mysteries of Mickey’s Magical Map. With amazing special effects, music, choreography and storylines, the show features 8 Disney’s productions: The Jungle Book, Pocohontas, Mulan, Tangled, The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch and The Princess and the Frog and of course Mickey Mouse. As it is usual with Disney there is a cute message at the end: Everything is possible and the journey is never over. We were also able to meet and ask questions to: Tracy Halas, Show Director/Choreographer; Mike Layman, Technical Director and Scott Auerbach, Art Director. They explained how everything came into place and the development of the show. The show is around 25 minutes long and it is a show that everybody will love! So if you are visiting Disneyland this summer, make sure you stop by at watch the show. You and your family are going to love it. Disclosure: I was provided with complementary tickets to Disneyland for the media event, however all opinions are my own. MONSTERS UNIVERSITY releases in theaters on June 21st!
