My family and I enjoyed a little treat this week. The amazing people at Domino's Pizza sent us the new Specialty Chicken to try out. It was a very nice surprise to get home and find that I did not need to make any dinner. It had been a long day at work and knowing that we had a treat to enjoy was awesome For $5.99, you get white meat chicken topped with Domino's-quality cheese and your choice of toppings. The flavors are:
We got to try the Classic Hot Buffalo. My son loves buffalo sauce and he said it was great. Not to spicy and just the right amount of cheese. My husband loved the texture and he said that is was a great way to eat fast food. He described them as chicken nuggets with pizza toppings. I liked the fact that they were not too greasy and the chicken was tender. I also liked the size, because it is enough for 2 people. I cannot wait to try the other flavors and I cannot wait for gluten free versions so I can share with other friends as well. To learn more see the press release What do you think? Is this something you would like to try? and what flavor would you like to try first? Disclosure: I received free samples of Domino’s Specialty Chicken to review.. All opinions expressed are my own.

James Gibson is 12 years old and only needs $2 million to convince NASA to let him go to the moon. It's not a regular thing for a kid to get $2 million. But James is no ordinary kid. Follow his adventure...from getting his weekly swirly in the school toilet from the neighborhood bully...all the way into outer space...in this exciting new novel, The Kid Who Went To The Moon. An 11 year old writes a book and it is actually really good. When I got this book to review I was thinking it is the perfect book for my son to read and give me feedback. So I asked my son to read it and he was very impressed and motivated with the fact that an 11 year old was able to write a book. My son is 9 and now he wants to start writing.
This is what my son had to say about the book
I also read the book. I think that it is well written and that the author has potential. I think it is a great form of motivation for kids to write and follow their dreams. I will be looking for more books like this to add to my son library. What type of books do you like to read? Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post for Whole Foods Market Santa Barbara. All opinions expressed are my own I was lucky to be invited (and to be able to attend) the One Wine Spring Release Party event in Santa Barbara Whole Foods on April 2nd from 6-8 pm. I am not a wine drinker, but once in a while I like to try new wines and I love all the food pairings that are associated with wine. So this event was perfect for a date night with hubby. So we drove up the coast to Santa Barbara enjoying the ocean and very nice day out. We got to Whole Foods Santa Barbara and saw the cute inside place named the Buzz Hive, where the event was going to take place. There was plenty of yummy food and of course wine for the tasting. We learned that Whole Foods and local winemakers share the fruits of their labor via One Wine label custom blended wines. The One Wine label is a unique collaboration between Whole Foods Market and local winemakers, stemming from Whole Foods Market’s commitment to supporting local communities and providing customers with products that celebrate the places and stories from which they are created. The One Wine label started in 2011 as a partnership with two wineries in Southern California, and has since blossomed into a mutually beneficial, creative and delectable partnership between Whole Foods Market and over ten of Southern California’s best winemakers. Participating One Wine wineries include Ampelos Cellars, Au Bon Climat Winery, Clendenen Family Winery, Fallbrook Winery, Happy Canyon Vineyards, Hearst Ranch Winery, Hitching Post Winery, Margerum Wineries and South Coast Winery. We were able to try some of them and they were good. Let me give you a little review of each one: ![]() One Wine Hearst Ranch Rosé This blend has bright, red cherry and blueberry aromas and flavors abound, with whiffs of smoke and white pepper on the finish. It sizzles with backyard barbeque fare, especially beef. ![]() One Wine Ampelos Rosé Its wild strawberry & watermelon flavors boldly flirt with the palate, while white pepper & bright acidity seal the deal, making this a superb match for salmon sashimi, quiche, Greek salads and other light Mediterranean fare. ![]() One Wine Margerum Rosé This is a sensational blend, a lip-smacking Rhone-style Rose. It's bursting with juicy, wild strawberry flavors & a dash of white pepper, delicious by itself or with a variety of festive fare! One Wine Margerum White Blend This is a crisp, citrusy Sauv Blanc with Riesling's apple & pear flavors, with some Chenin Blanc lending body, and a balance and hints of honey on the finish. Great wine for salmon, sashimi, seared scallops or shrimp with lemon-pepper butter. ![]() One Wine Sextant Zinfandel A blend of black, blue & red berry fruit here. It is juicy and smooth, but not too sweet . A nicely chewy finish with hints of toasty oak give you all the more reason to sink your teeth into a grilled bison burger or juicy rack of ribs! The event also included great food and the new sandwiches available at the menu at the Buzz Hive, and I can tell you we will be returning for some food pretty soon because all was not only very well presented but delicious. One Wine is produced in limited quantities due to the specialized blends. Check your nearest Whole Foods Market store in Southern California to pick up the latest One Wine selections. You can also visit Whole Food Santa Barbara Web Page When I started my journey to get healthier I never imagine that I was going to find out about all the “bad” things we put in our bodies and our environment. More and more articles are being published every day with toxic substances not only on food products but detergents, cleaner solutions and even personal care products. When the people of Rockin’ Green, contacted me to send me some samples I was really happy. I have heard about the eco-friendly laundry detergent before, and I was really looking forward to see if it would work on “adult” laundry as well as it does with diapers. Rockin’ Green Is made of safe, phosphate free ingredients, which are good for the planet, and it works great for kids and adults clothes. The detergent comes in three formulas - Soft Rock, Classic Rock and Hard Rock. (Depending of the type of water in the area that you live in the United States) Rockin’ Green comes in very nice fragrances: Smashing Watermelons, Earth, Wind, & Orchids, Rage Against the Raspberries, Motley Clean, Lavender Mint Revival, and Bare Naked Babies The results! I did the first load of laundry on our day to day clothes. I did not change the way I do laundry. I presoaked in our washer and then I run the washer on the same settings I have done in the past. I always use cold water. The clothes had a fresh nice smell. Even though it is powder detergent I did not see any of the “white marks” I had experienced with other powder soaps. The second load was of my husband’s greasy work clothes. I was not expecting any good results, because let’s be honest, sometimes ecological products are soft and do not clean as well. To my surprise Rockin’ Green removed some “fresh” oil stains. The water during the soaking process was not as “dirty” as with other detergents, so I was not sure it was going to work, but the clothes look very similar to what they look when I wash them with the detergent we normally use. (They are work clothes anyways, so I was not expecting miracles) Rockin’ Green also has available Funk Rock for ammonia, Femme Rock for cloth menstrual pads, and Dog House Rock for pets. (I might need to try some for Da Vinci's toys) So there you have it. Some products that are good for you work as they promise. This is a good example! Giveaway One lucky My Life is a Journey reader will win 3 sample bags of Rockin' Green Detergent so you can have clean clothes too.
